Pixel Seattle Project:

Pixel Seattle Project is an original production created for Chuck's Hop Shop in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood. Drawing inspiration from a beloved video game franchise, the project began as a passion project before evolving into a full creative campaign.

Originally conceived as an advertising campaign for Seattle Beer Week, the project encompassed end-to-end asset development. And as the design process matured, so did the work itself.

The concept was clear: draw from recognizable source material and iterate with intention, producing designs that felt both familiar and fresh. The campaign rolled out to strong reception and wide acclaim.

Process

In 2019, Chuck’s asked me to put my own spin on a series of iconic pop-culture visuals to help promote the week's events.

What came out of that brief became the Pixel Seattle Project: a suite of 16-bit assets drawn from the visual language of a beloved 1990s video game franchise, reimagined for one of Seattle's favorite beer destinations.

The process demanded patience and precision. Every asset was hand-drawn and digitally painted, and with only two weeks to produce a full suite of print and digital work, there was no room for error. It was meticulous work but I thrived in it. Understanding exactly what my client needed and delivering it on a tight timeline was the whole game.

The results spoke for themselves. The designs received wide acclaim and drove a 40% increase in event attendance. This is one of those projects I'm genuinely proud of, start to finish.
