Everyone deserves good design. You may ask “why good and not great?” Because the uncomfortable truth is that poor and ineffective design is everywhere thanks to the advent of AI tools and online design sites.

The rise of these tools has democratized the creative process; giving anyone the power to take on the role of “designer”. But accessibility doesn't equal literacy. Having the tools to create a design doesn't mean a person necessarily has the eye for it. After all, just because you have a hammer doesn’t mean you can build a house.

Good design is far more than the assembly of shapes, imagery, and color. Truly good design is intentional and precise. It commands attention, communicates clearly, and leaves a lasting impression. It demands a deep understanding of visual hierarchy, user experience, and cultural context. It requires nuance, restraint, and strategic thinking.

But, above all else, good design requires humanity. The irreplaceable human elements of instinct, empathy, and lived experience is what elevates a composition from merely functional to genuinely resonant.

That is why good design matters. Everyone deserves good design.
